Privacy Policy
YourPhotoTravel is a free, independent editorial website. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are
This website is operated by YourPhotoTravel LLC ("we", "us"). We publish photography location guides, photo trip routes and articles. We do not sell tours, tickets, accommodation or photography services, and you do not need an account to read anything on the site.
YourPhotoTravel LLC, a limited liability company registered in Maine, United States, 190 US-1, Falmouth, ME 04105, US. Email: [email protected]. Phone: +1 207-805-3059 (Editorial office phone: questions about our guides only. We cannot make or change bookings.) You can also write to us through our contact form.
Information you choose to give us
The main way we could receive personal information is when you deliberately send it to us, for example by contacting us by phone or through a contact form. In that case we may receive your name, email address, the subject of your message and anything you write in it.
At the time this policy was last updated, the contact form and newsletter signup on this website are not connected to a delivery or storage service. Information typed into them is not transmitted to us or stored by us. Each form says so on the page. If we connect these forms in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
How we use information
When we do receive information from you, we use it only to:
- read and reply to your editorial inquiry, correction or feedback;
- keep a reasonable record of correspondence so we can follow up on a correction or request;
- send a newsletter, but only if you have actively signed up once that service is available, with an unsubscribe option in every message;
- meet legal obligations and protect the website and its users against misuse.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your messages for automated profiling.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the servers and hosting infrastructure that deliver these pages process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver the page, keep the service secure and diagnose errors. We do not use this data to identify individual readers.
Photographs on this site are loaded from Wikimedia Commons, and fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, those providers receive standard technical information such as your IP address, under their own privacy policies.
Cookies and similar technologies
We describe cookies and local storage in our Cookie Policy.
Flight search widget
When you use the flight search widget, the data you enter (airports, dates, number of passengers) is sent to the third-party partner that provides the widget and to the travel company that shows the results. They process it under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your payment details.
Third-party services and links
We link to official visitor information, maps and other external websites. When you follow a link, the other website's own privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for how third parties handle your information, so please review their policies.
Retention
We keep correspondence only for as long as it is useful to answer your message, follow up on a correction, or meet a legal obligation, and then delete it. Newsletter details, once that service exists, will be kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection. We limit who can access any messages we receive. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, and we ask you not to send sensitive personal information (such as health or financial details) in an editorial inquiry.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to receive a copy. Residents of some US states and of the European Economic Area or United Kingdom have specific rights under their local laws.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, for example if we connect the contact form or newsletter, or introduce analytics. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
